The Kanata Lakes Community Association annual general meeting will be held on Wednesday November 26th, 2008 at 7:30pm in SS#1 Community Centre on Goldridge Drive (aside the park). Foremost on the agenda is the election of the executive for 2008/2009 . If you want to have a voice in your own community and put your ideas into action, it is still not too late to put your name forward for election. Nominations for all KLCA Executive positions are open and will be accepted up to and at the AGM. During the AGM, a motion to close nominations will be made and when approved by the membership, the elections will proceed. Also on the agenda, Councillor Wilkinson's update on city matters e.g. Outdoor rink funding and other budget considerations and executive reports.

Community building - We are still waiting a reply from the city solicitor on the commitment made by Campeau to building a community centre with parking and services, and the disposition of the "security in the amount of $200K required to ensure its completion."

The 2008 / 2009 Membership Drive has been off to a slow start this year.  Street Reps will be receiving their packages soon and will be visiting prior to the end of the year.  We still have a shortage of street reps so if you don’t see anyone; please print the membership form on this website and mail it in with your payment. The KLCA will once again be looking for the home with the best Christmas lights display in our community.
